Stefano di Blasi's 2016 Toscana is a super drinkable and tasty blend from a guy who's know known for his Super Tuscans and crisp Venetian whites. I hear it's great with pizza.

The Review: 3.5/5
An incredible old-world feel and a bountiful offering of rich fruit! Italian...and a Toscana? This has the makings of a classic already.
Initially I was struck with a mouthful of fruit that made me exclaim, like an old prospector, "great brambling blackberries!" Along with the deluge of blackberries there's some over-ripe plum and perhaps even a tinge of over-ripe apricot? I could be wrong on that one but there is another fleshy, fruity bit of goodness in there.
There may also be a bit of sautéed mushroom from a well-seasoned skillet…maybe it’s those mushrooms that have been cooking with those blackberries and plums to make a hearty, earthy and almost fruit-forward mixture that would be soooo good over a piece of pork tenderloin.
Overall it seems just a tad dry with that tannic tingle that marches across the tongue.
Oh, I almost forgot... the color,...wow! A crazy crimson with purple edges that swirl nicely in the glass.
I'd say this will be a big hit with the old-world crowd as well as those that like to taste a bit more of the fruit in a young red.
Cheers!!
